Frank

Frank Spillane is the older brother of Wests player Jack Spillane and the grandfather of well known Sports Journalist Debbie Spillane.

His family lived  initially at Lewisham NSW,  where it was likely that Frank played junior football with the Petersham Club. By the mid 1920’s the family moved to Ashfield where Frank lived for most of his life. The Spillanes were very much involved in local community and sporting activities.

The playing group at Wests were always tight knit with many life-long associations. Frank was a groomsman at Harry Tisdale’s wedding in 1928. He maintained his connection with the Club after retiring from the game. He appeared in a Wests past players team for the Frank McMillan testimonial match in 1937.
