Cec “Dick” Fifield was born at Adelong NSW but lived at Five Dock where he played with the Five Dock A Grade rugby league team.

He was selected from the Five Dock team to play with Wests President’s Cup team in 1922. Dick Fifield impressed in the President’s Cup competition, and at eighteen years of age he was graded with Wests. This was the start of a long and interesting  rugby league career that took him around the world.
