Gordon Daisley was a Western Suburbs junior who was first recorded playing Third Grade rugby league with Wests in 1919. He played a number of sports including cricket where he was an opening batsman. He had a long association with the Burwood United and Croydon Cricket Clubs. He played tennis with the Coutts Club, and was a prominent pigeon flyer with the Burwood Homing Society.
Gordon came to prominence in 1925 when he secured the fullback position at Wests when Frank McMillan went to Balmain for a season. Gordon tragically died by drowning at 28 years of age.
