Les

Les Hayes was known in his playing days as “L A” or “Buller.” It was a nick name  given to him from the age of five after a children’s book about a character called “Bully” Hayes.

Les played his early rugby league with the Balmain Club. He was an established First Grade player who represented NSW in 1924 and 1925. Les joined Wests in 1927 and was with the Club for two seasons.
