Cyril Bellamy played in the premiership winning Granville Royals B Grade team in 1921. The Cumberland Argus wrote; “Bellamy was as usual tricky and brilliant.” In June 1922 the Arrow newspaper noted; “Cyril Bellamy, possesses plenty of pace, has a good side step, and is sound in defence.” There is no record of Cyril Bellamy playing junior representative rugby league like many of his contemporaries, so he must have impressed the Selectors when he trialled with Wests in 1922.
Cyril Bellamy is a second cousin of Ted Bellamy, Wests player #36.
