Sid

Sid Elliott was a Canterbury Bankstown junior rugby league player. He played in the Canterbury President’s Cup team that won the competition in 1931.

Canterbury was one of four junior league sub districts in the Western Suburbs District in the 1930’s. The others were Western Suburbs, Southern Districts and Western Districts.

Canterbury juniors only came under the control of the Canterbury  District Club when it entered the First Grade competition in 1935.

The Canterbury Bankstown web site lists Sid Elliott as a fullback in the President’s Cup team. He would have been sixteen when he played President’s Cup with Canterbury.

Canterbury juniors that wanted to play senior rugby league prior to 1935 had to be graded with Wests. That is exactly what Sid Elliott did in 1933.
