Norm

The noted Sports Journalist and Rugby League Historian David Middleton, interviewed Norm Johnson’s son, Don, in 2012.

Don Johnson advised that Norm’s father was working on the Burrinjuck Dam at the time Norm was born. He was born in a tent in the south west NSW town of Bowning in January 1907. It wasn’t until 1910 that his birth was registered. Norm appeared to have played rugby league at Goulburn, but no record has been found other than a number of stories that referred to his time there when Wests visited Goulburn in 1931.
