Jim

Wests Archive would like to thank Jim Brophy for generously contributing his time and information in the preparation of this profile.

Jim Brophy was born in the Gunnedah district of NSW. His family lived on a rural property at Emerald Hill, 17 kilometres north-west of the town of Gunnedah.

At an early age, Jim’s family moved to the former gold mining town of Gulgong in the central west of NSW. It was here that Jim played his first game of rugby league.

After the family farm was sold, Jim moved to the nearby town of Mudgee. This is where Jim started to make his mark in both rugby league and rugby union.
