Arthur Mendel played for Five Dock Rugby League Club and Western Suburbs President’s Cup team alongside Cec Fifield in 1922. Like Cyril Bellamy, he was selected to play with Wests First Grade team in round seven of the 1922 season. He then played eleven First Grade games straight to see out the season in his debut year.
