Rodolph

The Arrow newspaper on 15 May 1925 reported; ” The latest additions (to Wests) are F. Spillane (forward) and R. Wheldon (halfback). Both played B Grade junior last season. Spillane is a big husky chap, well under the age of 21, and should soon find a place in the first team, being a solid tackler and fast in the open. Wheldon is of the stocky type, and varies his play to advantage. From B Grade juniors to Reserve Grade in one season is excellent progress.”  The news article describes Rodolph Wheldon quite well but it appears that it was his brother Edward Wheldon who joined Wests in 1925.

Rodolph Wheldon came to Wests in June 1926 and soon after, played one First Grade game when he replaced Harry Owen who had suffered a broken hand.
