Trevor Reardon’s family was from the suburb of Cabramatta in Sydney’s west. He spent his earliest years in that locality but the family moved to Berala by the late 1950’s.
Trevor played his junior rugby league with Berala in the Western Suburbs rugby league district. He was educated at Birrong Boys High School where he played rugby union and represented Combined High Schools.
After playing junior representative rugby league with Wests he went on to play First Grade with Wests and Souths.
Trevor played at a time when Wests had incredible back row talent. He had to compete with the game’s best for a First Grade position which he did. One of his first games in First Grade was in the Fibros v Silvertails war known as the “Battle of Lidcombe.”
