Sam

Samuel Perry was originally from New Zealand. He played rugby union with the Western Suburbs Club in 1907 and 1908.

No record has been found of Sam playing in 1909.  That year Samuel Oakley Perry signed on to the barque, James Craig as a second mate.

In November 1909 he failed firstly in his sextant and instruments examination and six days later failed his navigation examination. That outcome was probably a good thing for both the barque, James Craig, and rugby league football, as Sam Perry joined the Western Suburbs Rugby League Football Club in 1910.
