Roy Bossi is the younger brother of Alf Bossi (Wests #163) who made his First Grade debut with Wests in 1915. He played only one First Grade game with Wests and that was in round ten of the 1917 season. Roy did play two City Cup matches for Wests in 1918.
In 1921, Roy and Alf Bossi went across to the newly admitted St George team as they both lived in the St George district.
Roy Bossi played five First Grade and two City Cup games for St George in its inaugural season of 1921. He played in the St George team’s first ever win in the Sydney premiership competition, an 11-9 win over Newtown.
There is no further record of Roy playing First Grade rugby league. Roy Bossi is St George First Grade player no. 1.
Roy Bossi lived all of his life in the St George district and died at Hurstville, NSW in May 1964.
