Roy

Roland “Roy” Ives was born at St Peters, an inner suburb of Sydney. He played his junior football in the Newtown district. Roy was a member of the Newtown Third Grade team in 1921 and 1922 that were runners-up in that competition. It is known that Roy’s parents lived at Croydon in 1924, and it appears that Roy used his parents address to residentially qualify to play for Wests when he came across from Newtown in 1923.
