Robert Meredith’s family was one of the earliest to settle in the Western Suburbs district.
There are many descendants and a number of them played rugby union and rugby league. Fortunately, there was only one Robert Meredith of the right age and so he was easy to identify.
Robert was born at Burwood, NSW and grew up in the neighbouring suburb of Croydon where he learned to play football.
