Robert Howell first appears in the Wests Annual Reports as a member of the Club in 1918. Lower Grade playing records were not consistently kept until the 1920’s. However, there is an account of Robert Howell playing in Reserve Grade as early as 1917. He made his First Grade debut with Wests in 1921.
