Bob

Bob Sargent was born in Coonabarabran, NSW in 1932. He learned to play rugby league as a junior at Coonabarabran alongside players such as Joe Leslie and Eric Cain senior.

Bob was a five-eighth or half-back and developed into a hard running defensive player. He was enticed to Sydney to play for Wests in 1952 by Ron Watson. Ron captain/coached the Coonabarabran teams in 1951 before returning to Sydney and playing once more for Wests.
