This player was recorded in the Western Suburbs Heritage List of First Grade players as R. Davidson. However newspaper reports in 1943 and 1944 recorded him as R. Davidson and R. Davison. The Western Suburbs Annual Reports in 1943 and 1944 always recorded this player as R. Davison. It was therefore likely that the player’s correct name was R. Davison as the Annual Report was the source that was most likely to be accurate.
One candidate was found by the name of Richard Tinto Davidson, a Policeman, who resided at Croydon in 1943. Richard Davidson later moved to the suburb of Homebush where he lived for the remainder of his life. However a further search also found a likely candidate with the first name of Ralph.
