Peter

Peter Handcock grew up in the south-west Sydney suburb of Panania in the Canterbury Bankstown district. He played his junior rugby league there and was recognised by the representative rugby league selectors at an early age.

Canterbury Bankstown had a strong junior competition in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. This provided a plentiful flow of very good junior talent to the Canterbury graded teams ensuring their success in the following decades.

Peter had plenty of talent as he was well under age when he was selected in junior representative teams. He was in the Canterbury junior representative system over a six year period.
