Peter Wooden was born at Enfield, NSW and grew up playing rugby league as a Western Suburbs junior. At eighteen years of age he was selected as a forward in Wests 1953 President’s Cup team.
The team included a number of young players that went on to play First Grade with Wests. Players including Bill Carson, Bill Owens, Barry Owen and Les Midson all made their start in this President’s Cup team..
