Paddy McCue retired from cycling to become an Australian representative footballer and member of the successful Wallabies rugby union team that was Gold Medallists at the London Olympics in 1908. He then went on and played rugby league with the Kangaroos in 1911-12 and became a dual code rugby international.
Paddy also played for NSW between 1911 and 1913, captaining the team on its New Zealand tour in 1911. In 2008 he named in the Newtown Rugby League’s Team of the Century.
