Laurie

Laurie Roberts was born in the inner Sydney suburb of Balmain, His family later moved to the Dulwich Hill area where he played junior rugby league. The locality was contested with the Newtown District but in 1927 Laurie was considered to be a Canterbury junior. Prior to 1935 Canterbury was part of the Western Suburbs district.

Laurie was selected to play with the Canterbury Bankstown President’s Cup team in 1927.  He was graded with Wests in 1928.
