John Charles “Jack” Wall was born in the Hunter Valley mining town of Kearsley in 1926 and lived there until the early 1940’s. By 1943 his family was living at Arthur St Ashfield. It is here in the heart of Wests territory that a young Jack Wall learned to play rugby league.
As a Wests junior Jack Wall would join the Magpies during Wests golden era playing from 1949 to 1951. He played in the 1949 semi-final against Balmain and the 1950 finals against Balmain and Souths.
