James

James Speirs was the son of Scottish immigrants from Dundee. They settled in the Lidcombe area three years before James was born.

There were a number of football enthusiasts living in the area and in March 1906 a meeting was called to form a rugby union club that was named the Rookwood Crescents.

James was first recorded playing with the Rookwood Crescents in 1906.
