Jim

Wests Archive would like to thank Jim Murphy for generously contributing his time and information in the preparation of this profile.

Jim Murphy was born in Brisbane, Queensland in 1948. He was educated at Brothers St Brendans at Rocklea, Brisbane and then Sunnybank High School. Jim did well at school, being school captain and prefect but it was the football field where he excelled.

St Brendans has produced many great football players who went on to represent Australia in rugby league and rugby union. Among the St Brendans alumni is Mark Harris who played with Eastern Suburbs and Australia. Jim Murphy has been chosen in the Greatest Team from the first 50 years of St Brendans.
