Jim Hodgson lived at Ashfield/Summer Hill between 1900 and 1910. There were a few J. Hodgsons in this locality at the relevant time, however James Edwin Alfred Hodgson appears to be the only one of the right age. Further confirmation with descendants would be useful.
Jim made his First Grade debut in round five of the 1908 season and played the last five games in the top grade.
He was the top point scorer in 1908 with one try and five goals for a tally of thirteen points. There is no further record of Jim Hodgson paying First Grade rugby league.
