Jack

Jack Huxley was born Jack L Farthing at Sydney in 1912. He was one of five children born to Mabel Farthing. His father was recorded as Daniel McCarthy. Jack was placed under guardianship when he was eight months old to Elizabeth Jane Huxley of Mogriguy. Mogriguy is located just north of Dubbo, NSW.

Elizabeth was married to farmer, Loaton Thomas Huxley and would have been around fifty six years of age when Jack arrived.

It is known that Jack was with the Huxley family until 1919 but by 1921 the guardian had been removed. He was relocated to Sydney and no further record has been found until he commenced playing with the Marrickville rugby league team.
