The reporting of players names in the newspapers of the time was very inconsistent. It was common to see variations in the spelling of surnames and the recording of a first initial of a forename. This inevitably creates confusion and makes it difficult to identify players.
The surname of Frost was recorded consistently but his first initial was not. The player Frost was a centre-three quarter when he played with Wests in 1908. He played five First Grade games with Wests and in newspaper reports was referred to as Frost on three occasions, E. Frost on one occasion and T. Frost on another. This player was also recorded as J. Frost in Wests Heritage list as well as the Rugby League Project.
By building a player profile, it was determined that the player in question was Frank Frost from Five Dock.
