The Bartley family were local business people who had a Ham and Beef Shop (Delicatessen) in Burwood Rd Belmore. Frank Bartley was the youngest of nine siblings (eight brothers and a sister). The Bartley boys were prominent in local rugby league and cricket circles. Frank Bartley played with the Belmore Rugby League Club and was selected to play with the Canterbury Bankstown President’s Cup team in 1924.
