The Rugby League Project has mistakenly included the one appearance of C. Potter, in Wests First Grade team, as part of Balmain player George Potter’s record.

There is no indication that George Potter ever played with Wests. In 1917 George Potter played one City Cup game with Balmain but was otherwise selected in the Balmain lower grades during that year.

This is supported by the fact that in the Evening News on 18 May 1917, G. Potter was selected as a Reserve for the Balmain First Grade team while C. Potter was selected at five-eighth for Wests First Grade team.

A search of public records has provided limited information to fully identify C. Potter at this time so caution needs to be used  until further verification of this player’s identity is found.
