Don Moseley grew up in the Sydney suburb of Yagoona. In the 1960’s there was any number of good junior players from this area that either played with Canterbury or Wests. The Mullins brothers were also Yagoona lads.
He attended Yagoona primary school where he was soon noted as a very good cricket, soccer and rugby league player. He then went to Birrong Boys high school where he played rugby union. Birrong was also the alma mater of Wests notables such as Brian Cook, Trevor Reardon, Ron Brodrick and Peter Walsh. Former First Grade referee, Jack Danzey was also the sports master at Birrong High.
Don played his junior rugby league in the Canterbury Bankstown district and was soon recognised by the junior representative selectors. He was graded with Canterbury in 1973 and had four seasons with the club before moving across to Wests. A grade career which spanned seven seasons saw Don play one hundred First Grade games.
After retirement from playing, Don had a successful career in the media. He worked with Sydney radio stations 2UE and 2GB from 1982 until 2014.
