Charles Luhr Played rugby union with the Ashfield Borough and Second Grade teams up until 1907. In 1908 he switched over to play rugby league with Wests and played one First Grade game that year.
His First Grade debut was in round two of the competition when Wests were soundly defeated by Souths 7-42. Charles played for Wests again in 1909 and played a further two First grade games.
In 1910, Charles played First Grade in rounds five to eight. Wests had one of its rare wins in round seven, defeating North Sydney but in round eight the team was soundly defeated by Souths 0-67. It was Charles Luhr’s last appearance in the top grade.
Charles returned to the Western Suburbs junior rugby league competition in 1911 and played with the Ashfield Surreyville Club.
Charles eventually moved further out to the Sydney suburb of Guildford where he died in September 1948.
