Arthur Gillett was born at Tempe NSW in 1896. He moved with his family to the southern highlands railway town of Harden as an infant. The twin towns of Harden-Murrumburrah were a centre for railway maintenance and also a rail head for wheat and other rural products.
Arthur’s had a long association with NSW Railways. His occupation was recorded as Locomotive Cleaner and Fireman. He is honoured on the Goulburn Railway Employees, First World War Memorial at Goulburn NSW.
