Albert Halling played rugby union with the Burwood Iona Club. He was selected in a Western Suburb junior representative rugby union team in 1907. He was a tall lanky centre who was referred to by the name of ”Sticko”.
In 1908 he gave up on the rugby union code and joined up with the newly formed Cumberland Rugby League Club.
