Tom Stanton was born in Sheffield, England in 1908. His father was a Licensed Victualler, but later described as a Farmer.
Tom Stanton arrived in Australia with his family in April 1913 as a six year old. The family settled at Enfield, NSW and Tom Stanton played his junior football with the Enfield Federals.
